Cars from Korea to Armenia
Armenia is part of the EAEU and has long become one of the region's key hubs for parallel car imports. The Yerevan and Zvartnots customs offices are well familiar with Korean cars: clearance is fast, with rates under the unified EAEU customs tariff. At the same time Armenia retains a number of incentives for electric and hybrid cars, which makes the Korean EV segment especially attractive. One important caveat: since 1 April 2026 bringing such a car into Russia no longer saves money — on registration in Russia the recycling fee is topped up to Russian rates.

Sea freight
The main route is Busan → Vladivostok, the shortest sea crossing from Korea. On request we also quote the western option: by sea via Suez to the Georgian port of Poti. There is no direct Korea — Poti service, so the ship goes with a transshipment and the sea leg there is measured in weeks rather than days — we give an exact figure against the specific schedule.
Transit to Armenia
On the eastern route — rail and car carrier across Russia to Verkhny Lars and on into Armenia; the queue at the crossing normally takes 3–4 days. On the western one — a car carrier Poti → Yerevan, about 550 km. The leg is handled by partner carriers, so timing is approximate.

For electric cars, hybrids and rare trims, clearing in Armenia is cheaper — the quota carries a 0% duty and a VAT exemption. But if the car then goes to Russia there is no saving: since 1 April 2026 the recycling fee is topped up to Russian rates on registration there. And EVs imported under the EAEU quota of 7 August 2026 may not be transferred to residents of Russia or Kazakhstan at all. Armenia's advantage is for a car that stays in Armenia.
